
Emma Jeane Simmons Brannan was born May 12, 1924 in Hall County, Texas and died November 9, 2010 in New Braunfels, Texas. She was the third of eight children born to William Sanford Simmons and Curtis Mollie Cagle. Surviving siblings are Curtis Elena Hill, Loma Hendricks, Merle Holmes, Lindel Bittick, Ivy Pearl Moore, James Simmons, and Walter Simmons.
Jeane attended school at Pleasant Hill, Quail Consolidated School District, and graduated from Lockney High School. She attended Wayland Baptist Junior College, graduating with an associate’s degree. She and Dee Arlin Brannan began dating and were wed on February 20, 1944, in her family home in Floydada, Texas.
Jeane Brannan is survived by her husband, Dee, children and their spouses. Daughter Pam and John Miller; daughter Tricia and Jimmy Cornelius; and two sons, Geryl and Connie Brannan; and Ken and Denise Brannan. She is also survived by more grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family-in-love, (and others who can’t deny us even if they want to) than we can count.
Jeane Brannan was a servant of the Lord all the days of her life. We know that even now she is at the feet of Jesus, hearing “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” We will miss you, mama.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 12, 2010 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church of New Braunfels, TX.
