Epimenio Z. Suarez Jr.

Epimenio Z. Suarez Jr. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the age of 89. He was born in McQueeney, Texas on May 23, 1928 to Epimenio Suarez Sr. and Paula Zertuche Suarez. Epimenio proudly served his country by joining the U.S. Air Force and fought in WWII. He soon married the love of his life, Anastacia Castilleja Suarez and together they raised seven wonderful children. Epimenio loved working for SMI in Seguin and after 30 great years there he retired. Epimenio was an avid baseball fan and player. He played semi pro for Seguin Steelers and for the Air Force which took him to many parts of the country and other countries when playing for the Air Force. Epimenio was a devout catholic and longtime member of the Cursillistas. He loved music and was deeply proud of his culture and the many family members that joined the US Armed Forces. Epimenio will always be remembered for his jokes and sense of humor, but most of all for the love he showed towards his family. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Anastacia Suarez; son, Daniel Suarez; and numerous brothers and sisters. Epimenio is survived by daughter, Alice Castillo and husband Tony; daughter Angie Morales and husband Jesse; son, Fernando Suarez and wife Rachel; son, Guadalupe Suarez and wife Kathryn; daughter, Grace Guerrero and husband Jimmy; daughter, Anna Maria Perez and husband Ruben; son, Epimenio Suarez III and wife Jo Ann; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren; brothers, Modesto Suarez, Abraham Suarez, and Joe Suarez; sisters, Juanita Varela, Lupe Ryan, Diana Puente, Matilda Fant, and Gloria Castillo.

Public Visitation will be Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 5-9 pm; with Rosary at 7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 10 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. We will be departing in procession from Zoeller Funeral Home at 9:30 am. Interment will immediately follow the Funeral Mass at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery on Peace Ave.
