Eva Garcia Duffek, age 49, of New Braunfels, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 after a brave fight against cancer. Eva was born June 29,1969 in New Braunfels to Margarito and Linda Garcia. She graduated from New Braunfels High School, class of '87. She later married James E. Duffek and raised two sons, Andrew and Eric. Eva was a wonderful mother. She loved her sons more than anything. She was a breast cancer survivor and fought until the very end. Eva loved 80's music and was an avid Spurs fan, but most of all she loved being with family and friends. She will be missed greatly, but her love will live on forever.
Eva is survived by her husband, James Edward Duffek; sons, Andrew Duffek and Eric Duffek (Frank); brother, Margarito Garcia (Regina); sister, Anna Rodriguez (Gilbert); brother, Joseph Garcia (Meghann); and father-in-law, Joseph Duffek. She was preceded in death by her parents and her niece Linda Garcia.
A visitation for Eva will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with the Rosary recited at 7:00 PM at Zoeller Funeral Home. The funeral service will occur at Zoeller Funeral Home Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 1:00 PM, with burial following at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
