Florene Yarborough Craft, 82, of New Braunfels , Texas, entered into eternal life on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Methodist Medical Center Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Loney W. and Viola Wright Yarborough of Pinehurst, North Carolina.
There will be a Visitation at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas, on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held at Oakwood Baptist Church, 2154 Loop 337, New Braunfels, Texas, on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 11:00 AM, with a burial service to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas at 1:15 PM. Following the burial service, there will be a reception back at Oakwood Baptist Church at 4:00 PM.
Born in Raeford, North Carolina on December 22, 1035, she moved with her family to Pinehurst, North Carolina at a very early age. She attended school in Pinehurst, never missing a day in 12 years. After graduating from Pinehurst High School, she married Robert E. Craft on November 21, 1954.
True to her name, Florene means “Flowering, in bloom”. She loved her family and was the essence of cohesiveness for all she loved. She was the cornerstone upon which every family member and memory was built. She realized a new joy when her three granddaughters Nicole, Danielle, and Katherine were born, and even greater joy came when her great grandchildren Emmalee, Cooper, and Jasper came into her life.
Florene lived by one of the greatest Biblical principles: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13.
Florene was preceded in death by her parents Loney and Viola Yarborough of Pinehurst, North Carolina, and her brother William H Yarborough of Maxton, North Carolina. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert E. Craft of New Braunfels, Texas; children David Craft and wife Maggie of Carthage, North Carolina, Robert W. (Bobby) Craft and wife Molly of New Braunfels, Texas, Cynthia (Cindy) Craft Bazari of New Braunfels, Texas; sisters Jean Yarborough Prickett of Carthage, North Carolina, Barbara Cortez Southers and husband Richard Southers of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren Nicole Craft of New Braunfels, Texas, Danielle Bass and husband Cody of New Braunfels, Texas, Katherine Craft of Elsmere, Kentucky; and great grandchildren Emmalee Wetz, Cooper Bass, and Jasper Dyal, all of New Braunfels, Texas.
Her work here was done well, and she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.
