

Francisca Rosales “Kika” Gomez, 91, died December 30, 2012 in New Braunfels, Texas. She was born near Seguin, Texas on January 29, 1921 to Dominga Iracheta Rosales and Narciso Gomez. She lived in New Braunfels most of her life. Kika was a loving and generous mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. She loved music and looked at life with a sense of humor. Kika treated everyone kindly and touched the hearts of everyone she knew.
Her parents, three sisters (and spouses), Jesusa (Pedro) Torres, Ricarda (Roberto) Ramirez, and Paz Gomez; and one brother, Cruz (Tomasa) Gomez, preceded her in death.
She is survived by sons Reyes (Esther) Torres and Johnny Joe Gomez, daughter Mary Jane (Greg) Frazier; grandchildren Mary Esther Torres, Noah, Samantha, Mallory, Amanda, and Annessa Gomez, and Tracy and B.J. Ortiz; 15 great-grandchildren; brother Marcos (Elisa) Gomez; sisters Bruna (the late Jesus) Guerrero and Mary Nicolasa Gonzales; nieces and nephews (from Jesusa:) Filo (Lupe), Juan (Luisa), Paul (Leona), Severino (Lupe), Tino (Sally), Juana, Gilbert, Tita (Manuel) Cortez, the late Maria Elena, and Freddy (Beatriz) Torres; (from Cruz:) the late Cruz Jr., Zulema (Brigido) Elizondo, Jesse (Maria), Genevieve (Herminio) Perez, and Narciso (Eunice) Gomez; (from Ricarda:) Johnny (the late “Turi”) Garza, Miguel Garza Jr., Yolanda Jackson, and the late Roberto Jr., Alfonso, and Irma Ramirez; (from Marcos:) Marcos Jr., Olga, Mark, and Manuel Gomez; (from Bruna:) Grace (Jimmie) Hernandez, Dora (Lorenzo) Herrera, Diana Aguilar (Rick Chavez), and Jesse Guerrero Jr.; (from Mary Nicolasa:) Gilbert (the late Hilda) Gonzales and Alma (Enrique) Villanueva; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Public visitation will begin 5:00 PM Friday at Zoeller Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue 8:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home until 9:30 AM when the service departs in procession to the church. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Reverend Ignatius Himawan, MSF - celebrant. A luncheon at the church hall will follow.
