George Thomas Sotack

November 21, 1937-November 29, 2014

George Thomas Sotack, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014 shortly after a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. He was born on November 21, 1937 in Patton Pennsylvania to Margaret and Michael Sotack. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Bertha and nephew Richard.

George is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susanne Sotak; four sons, James Sotack of San Antonio, David Sotack of Spring Branch, Danny and Edward Sotack of Arkansas; brother in law, David Tyler of Spring Branch; brothers, Michael Sotack and wife Yvonne, Jim Sotack and wife Kathy; sister, Mary Hohman; granddaughter, Jessica Sotack; several nephews and mother of his four sons, Shirley Roe.

George proudly served in the US Air force as a medic and learned to fly after leaving the service. George was a corporate pilot for several Texas oil companies. He was employed at Flight Safety International for the last twelve years as a Program Manager & Flight Instructor.

George was very active in Lions International, serving in numerous positions including District Governor. One of his passions was being Santa for the Childs Morning Out at Bulverde United Methodist Church for several years, other charities and Flight Safety Christmas parties.

George will be remembered by many for his smile and great stories. He will be dearly missed.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Bulverde United Methodist Church, 28300 Highway 281 North, San Antonio, Texas 78260.
