

Gloria (Mata-Espinedo) Flores, our precious mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, godmother and friend, entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 with her family by her side.
Gloria was born June 26, 1928 to Antonio and Aurora Espinedo in Houston, Texas, the oldest of 3 children. On October 2, 1949 she married Roy M. Flores in Houston. They were married for 61 years until his death on August 24, 2011.
She was a very beautiful and intelligent woman. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and retired with 33 years of service. Gloria and Roy after their retirement became very active at “Our Lady of St. John Catholic Church,” where she became a Eucharistic Minister. In January 2007, they moved to New Braunfels, Texas to live with their daughter, Laura and husband Ramon.
Gloria is preceded in death by her husband; Roy, her father; Antonio Espinedo, mother and step-father; Aurora and Alphonso Solis, her sister and brother-in-law; Bernice and Fred Harper Jr., aunts and uncles; Juan and Susie Mata, Guadalupe and Maria Mata, Hortencia and Simon Mata, Antonia and Carl Ortiz, Irene and Pete Leal.
She is survived by her daughters; Patricia and Ruben Vasquez, Laura and Ramon Lopez, and son; Roy Stephen and Angelica Flores. Brother and his sons; Ambrose Espinedo, Michael Lee and Frank Anthony Espinedo. Grandchildren; Melissa (Jay) Soria, Victoria (Marcello) Nieto, Ruben Raul Vasquez, Jennifer (Chris) Nieto, Aurora Vasquez, Ramon (Danielle) Lopez, Roy Stephen and Matthew Flores. Great-grandchildren; Bianca, Savannah, Marcello, Micah, Elijah, Patience and River. All her sisters and brothers-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family wishes to thank Hope Hospice for their compassionate care also to Deacon Beck Knox for coming to give communion and prayers to both our mother and father.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 from 10:00 a. m. to 11:00 a. m. at Zoeller Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11:00 a. m. at Zoeller Funeral Home.
