Grace L. Stapleton

Grace L. Stapleton, 94, of New Braunfels, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Kirkwood Manor. She was born to David R. Lynn and Edna (Whitehead) Lynn on December 14, 1921 in Burnet, Texas. She worked for Natural Bridge Caverns, a job she dearly loved and enjoyed. This job allowed her to meet people from all around the world which she loved doing. She reluctantly retired from there in 1986. Grace loved baking cookies for her grandchildren and it didn’t take long for other children in the neighborhood to discover her. These children lovingly named her the “Cookie Grandma” and would visit often. Grace was a very good seamstress and made her daughter's wedding dress. She also loved to crochet. She is survived by her son, Steve Stapleton and wife Dorothy of New Braunfels; son, Clint Stapleton and wife Lynne of San Antonio; daughter, Peggy Brown and husband Dennis of New Braunfels; son, Clifton Stapleton and wife Penny of New Braunfels; son, Clayton Stapleton and wife Kacey of Austin; 11 grandchildren,12 great grandchildren and 1 soon to be born. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband , Henry Steve Stapleton; and grandson, Christopher Stapleton.

Public Visitation will begin 6:00 PM Monday, June 27 at Zoeller Funeral Home and will continue until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at McQueeney Baptist Church in McQueeney, Texas. Burial will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday in Leakey Floral Cemetery in Leakey, Texas. Memorial contributions may be given to McQueeney Baptist Church. Arrangements under the direction of Zoeller Funeral Home, New Braunfels, TX.
