Something someone said on social media made me look up Commander Halenza's obituary. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Lcdr Halenza was our W Division officer on the USS Midway in the 1970/1971 time frame. Then I reenlisted for orders to the United States Naval Aviation Weapons Facility at St. Mawgan. We received a phone call that the CO of our sister command at Machrihanish Scotland was arriving at the gate and would need an escort. I was selected and Darn if it wasn't CDR Halenza. It is a very small world we live in. Once again, I am sorry to hear of his passing.

Our memories of cousin Hal are few but full of praise for how beautifully he lived when we did know him. No kind words would surprise us. -- Glenn Rogers, Andover, Massachusetts
