Harvey R Pfannstiel

Harvey R. Pfannstiel, 82, of New Braunfels, TX, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Kirkwood Manor Care Center. He was born to Reno Pfannstiel and Linda (Koch) Pfannstiel in New Braunfels on May 17, 1934.

Harvey graduated from New Braunfels High School and went on to join the US Navy. After his discharge from the service he went back to school, attending Southwest Texas State College and graduating in 1964. He taught 8th grade Social Studies for many years at New Braunfels Middle School and also at the Gary Job Corps for some time. He was an avid reader and enjoyed doing research and writing on various subjects. He loved sports, the outdoors, and farming.

He is survived by his wife, Hope Pfannstiel; sons, Jay E. Pfannstiel and wife Jennifer, Matt A. Pfannstiel and wife Selena, and Barry K. Pfannstiel; grandchildren, Haley Pfannstiel, Casey Pfannstiel, Brady Pfannstiel, and Zac Pfannstiel; sisters, Shirley Schwarzlose and Linda Dietert; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Leatrice Dietert.

A memorial gathering for family members and friends will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home Wednesday, June 15, 2016 starting at 5:00 pm. and continuing until 8:00 p.m. Arrangements under the direction of Zoeller Funeral Home, New Braunfels, TX.
