

Hope Hamilton, 92, of Minden, Texas, formerly of San Marcos, TX, passed away June 8, 2016 at Henderson, TX. She was born January 17, 1924 in Barnsdall, OK to James Franklin and Edna Williams Caruthers. She married Bernard James Hamilton, Jr. in Alvin, TX on November 13, 1943. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Luling, TX. She and her husband were both life members of the NRA and believed strongly in the Second Amendment, right to bear arms.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Bernard James Hamilton, Jr, her parents, two sisters, Loma Douglas and Wanda Bruton, and two great-grandsons, Justin Rogers and Cameron Hallmark.
She is survived by three daughters; Diane Green of Jonestown, TX, Mary Jo and husband Haskell Lunsford of Minden, TX, and Hope and husband Greg King of Needville, TX; two sons, Frank Hamilton of Luling, TX and John Hamilton and wife Kay of San Antonio; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. One sister, Oleta Hartman of Pearland, TX and a number of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Pallbearers are her grandsons: James Alan Lunsford, Jon Lunsford, Mark Hardie, Patrick Hamilton, Matthew Hamilton, and Brian King.
A Visitation will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, TX., on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 4:00pm-8:00pm. The Visitation will continue from 10:00am-11:00am on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Luling. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, at First Baptist Church of Luling. Interment will immediately follow at Luling City Cemetery.
