Jack Hickman, 85, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018. Jack, an Eagle Scout, proudly served his country for 3 years in the Navy and 4 years in the Air Force. After earning an engineering degree from UT-Austin he went to work for Texas Instruments in Dallas where he spent thirty years designing and building infrared systems for our Armed Forces. After retiring in 1991, his interests turned to woodworking and operating his amateur radio station, W5ZQ. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Monique, and their son Dr. Mark Hickman and wife, Elsa, and his grandson, Matthew. A Committal Service with full military honors will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
