

At age 17, he joined the Navy where he proudly served his country for over 30 years, fighting in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He served as an officer in the Nueces County Sheriff’s Posse for many years, as well as treasurer and board member of Gateway Christian Center in Flour Bluff, before moving to New Braunfels in 1998. Jack loved God, his family and his country passionately. Jack was a patriot, and could be seen daily raising the “Stars and Stripes” in his front yard. As a man of honor and integrity, he lived a purposeful life as an example for his family to follow in his footsteps. He leaves behind a family who loved and respected him dearly, and anxiously awaits their reunion in Heaven. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, William (Will) and Aileen Perry.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Pauline (Polly) R. Perry; daughters, Polly Sprott & husband Jack, Terry Austin & husband Tom; son, Gary Perry; grandchildren, Mark Koellner, Michael Koellner, Matthew Koellner, Marten Koellner, Kara Raful, Kristin King, Bryan Perry, Justin Perry; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jonathan, Lucas, Hope, Katrena, Harper, Payton, Eden, Hannah, Rachel, Leticia, Hudson and Niam.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 5 pm until 8 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 10 am at Zoeller Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
