Joseph Martin Syring

Joseph was a Marine Core Vietnam Veteran and served from 1974 to 1982, with a honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant. Joseph worked as Roofing contractor in New Braunfels, Texas most of his life. Then moved to Nebraska to join a a venture with his brothers Herbert & Benjamin. Later in life he moved to Burlington, Kansas to work in his brother’s restaurant “Across the Broader”. Joseph said he was his brother Arthur‘s right hand man. He helped him remodel the restaurant and worked in the restaurant cooking, waiting tables and cleaning for about fifteen years.

Joseph was married to Joyce Kent and Brenda Karen Zastra, he had 10 children, 32 grand children and 11 Great Grand children.

Joseph was proceeded in death by his parents (Benjamin & Aureila Syring), Grandparents; Brother Nicolas Syring & (wife Margaret); Sister Angeline Timmerman &(husband David), Brother Herbert Syring, Brother Anthony Syring; Sister-in-law Jean Syring, Brother-in-law Ezra McClary; niece Kelly Jean Timmerman, nephews John & James Cooper, brother-in-law Nicolas Parr Sanchez, nephew Nicolas Sanchez Jr., and grand-daughter Stephanie Syring.

Joseph is survived by his wife Brenda Karen Syring, 10 children: Sherry Bellis(Scott), of Sequin, Texas, Shelia Trainer of Schuyler, NE, Shelly Denbo (Lance) of Duncan, NE, Rebecca Syring of Sutton, NE, Terry & Tony Zastra, Mary Syring of St Paul, NE, Sara Rojo (Saul) of Schuyler, NE, Ramie Zastra of Schuyler, NE, and Anna Yepz (Wallace) of Schuyler, NE.

Viewing and Visitation will take place Friday, April 16, 2021 on at Zoeller’s Funeral Home, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Tx 78130, from 5pm to 9pm with a Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at St Joseph’s in Honey Creek, 25781 TX-46, Spring Branch, TX 78070, at 11am with Committal Service to follow at St Joseph Cemetery at Honey Creek. The Rosary and Funeral mass will be live streamed on Zoeller’s Facebook funeral page starting five minutes prior.
