Larry was born in Ithaca, Nebraska to Arthur and Rosa Rexilius on February 1, 1935. Larry grew up in Lincoln Nebraska, later moved to Wheaton, Illinois and attended Wheaton Academy. He soon moved to Texas to continue his education. He married the love of his life, Jane Kinard Rexilius, on July 6th in Gainesville, Texas. Larry graduated from Baylor University and went on to enjoy a long and dedicated career as an accountant with Union Texas Petroleum in Houston. He also co-owned and operated Mrs. Wagner’s School in Houston, Texas, Jane.
Larry proudly served in the United States Army. A man of strong faith, Larry loved the Lord. He was a longtime member of Oakwood Baptist Church in New Braunfels and attended regularly as long as he could. He loved his family deeply, cherished the life he built, and found joy in being with his family, golfing, and watching Baylor Football. Larry had a true humble servant’s heart—always willing to help others, lend a hand, or quietly support anyone in need.
Larry is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane Rexilius, and by his parents, Arthur and Rosa Rexilius; sister Marge Scott; brothers James Rexilius, Rolle Rexilius and Rex Rexilius.
He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Susan Rexilius Starr, and her sons, David and Michael Starr; his son, Rex Michael Rexilius, and his wife, Michelle, and their children Megan, Shayna, and Cameron Rexilius; his sister Sharon Thomas. We want to thank his nephew Jack Rexilius for caring for him the last 2 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Oakwood Baptist Church on December 22, 2025. Time will be announced soon.
