Laura Jean Laughlin, 82, of New Braunfels, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 at her residence. She was born to James Balls and Melinda (Reidel) Balls in Hays, Kansas on January 19, 1931. Laura moved to New Braunfels from Lincoln, Nebraska in 1983. She and her late husband owned and operated first, Sport About and later Bob’s Billiards. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by daughters, Judy Ohlschwager, Barbara Carrera and husband Chuy; sisters, Lila George and Bernice Warden; brother, Tom Balls; 8 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, Robert L. Laughlin; daughter, Susan Durham; brother, James Balls
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 7, 2013 at Zoeller Funeral Home with interment to follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
