Lawrence Erhard Schaefer

Lawrence was born at Morningside Acres in New Braunfels, Texas to Hilmar W. Schaefer and Mary P. Schaefer (Kuehler) on October 3, 1940. He married Jo Ann Schaefer (Henke) on September 3, 1960 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1959. He was employed by Mission Valley Mills from 1958 until he retired. He was a long time member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Hermann Sons #21, a former life member of the Freiheit Bowling Club. He was a farmer and cattleman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hilmar W. and Mary P. Schaefer, and survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann Schaefer, four daughters, Cynthia A. Simmons and husband Roger, Marcie L. Heidrich and husband Allen, Lauren M. Mosel and Michael, and Deborah K. Lunsford and husband Dale, six grandchildren, Grant Simmons and wife, Reina, Blake Simmons, Emily Simmons, Casey Heidrich, Kelly Mosel, Heather Lunsford, and two great-grandchildren, Luca and Jason, and his loving pet and friend, Stinky.

Public visitation will begin 5:00 PM Sunday at Zoeller Funeral Home with a Vigil Service and Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held 9:30 AM Monday, October 21, 2013 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Reverend Tony Pesek - celebrant. Entombment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Mausoleum. Memorial contributions can be given to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, or the charity of one’s choice. A special thanks to, Melissa and Anita from Warm Springs Specialty Hospital for their loving care of our loved one and having a true heart of compassion. Pall-bearers are: Mike Mosel, Dale Lunsford, Allen Heidrich, Grant Simmons, and Roger Simmons. Honorary Pall-bearers are: Melvin Voigt and Herbert Shrunk.
