

Lemaster Warnke, 83, of New Braunfels, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Hill Country Specialty Hospital. He was born to Henry Frank Warnke and Hattie M. (Wegner) Warnke in Gonzales, Texas on Jan. 14, 1927. He married Gladys Mehnert on October 19, 1947 in Goliad, TX. He was an auto mechanic for many years and for a short while he owned an auto repair shop. He was a Reserve Sheriff Deputy for Comal County and also worked for the New Braunfels Police Department and New Braunfels Emergency Communications. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the V.F.W., the Sheriff’s Association and the N.R.A. He enjoyed bowling and was a Life Member of Mission Valley Bowling Club where he was in the Nine-Pin Bowling Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gladys Warnke of New Braunfels; daughter, Linda S. Gilliam and husband Kenneth of New Braunfels; sisters, Carol Dees and husband Johnny of Crosby, TX, Bernice Stange of Victoria, TX, and Lorene Sherman and husband James of Beaumont, TX; grandchildren, Eric D. Patrick of New Braunfels, Stacey Natal and husband Albert of New Braunfels, and Colleen Hughes and husband J. Michael of Incirlik AFB, Turkey, Karri Morales and husband Rene of New Braunfels and Kyia Thompson of Cisco, TX; great-grandchildren, Waymonlee Hughes; Fabian, Alyssa, Sierra and Hailey Natal; Jeremy and Kelsey Hughes; MaKayla, Mariah, Isaiah Morales; Cody, Aubry, Tristan, and Jayden Thompson; special friend, Irma Gonzales and children Devon, Maddox, and Lucas.
Public visitation will begin 5:00 PM Friday at the Zoeller Funeral Home with the family present to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Zoeller Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Charles DeHaven officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
