Manuel J. Benavides

Manuel J Benavides gained his wings on December 28th, 2024 at the age of 86, surrounded by his loving family. Manuel was born Aug 30th, 1938 in Wharton Texas. His beloved parents were Jose Benavides and Delores Galvan- Perez.

Manuel is survived by his soulmate Gloria Benavides and his daughters: Guadalupe and husband Paul Caballero, Maria and husband Ysidro Carrizales, Sativa Gomez, and Marcia and husband Jose Munoz. He is also survived by his siblings; Frederico Benavides, Minerva Davila, Alex Benavides, Irma Madrid, loving nieces and nephews and grandchildren. His Grandchildren; JoAnn, Paula, Simon, Luis, Robert, Ysidro, Nicholas, Michael, Rodney, Sonia, John, Bobby, Miranda, Kathy, Armando, Rogelio, Sergio, Nicole, Naomi, Erika, Jesus, Jesse, Jessica, Cynthia, Juan, and 61 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.

Manuel is welcomed in heaven by his father and mother, his siblings Jose Benavides, Juan Perez, Mary Correa, and his children Antonia Alvarez, John Joseph Moreno and great great granddaughter Valentina A Rodriguez.

Manuel was a hard worker who retired from Mission Valley Mill in New Braunfels, Texas. Where he was employed for over 40 years. Manuel enjoyed being outside planting fruits and vegetables with his green thumb. He loved spending time with family and friends, listening to music, dancing and yard selling. His all-time favorite pastime was watching old western shows and WWE with his favorite wrestler The Undertaker. Manuel will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His handsome smile lit up every room. He had a beautiful stern soul who would help anyone in need. He always encouraged his family to reach for the stars. Now as we look up each night, we will have our own star watching over us and protecting all of those who knew him.

A public visitation for Manuel will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. A holy rosary will occur Monday, January 6, 2025 at 7:00 PM, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 245 S Hidalgo Ave, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Comal Cemetery, 301 Peace Ave, New Braunfels, Texas 78130.
