

Martha Louise Brown, 90, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in Dallas. She was born in Wilmington, Delaware on January 21, 1926 to Mary and Vernon Larson. She is preceded in death by husband, Douglas E. Brown with whom she shared 55 years of happy marriage.
After graduating from Nursing School in Wilmington, Martha was a registered nurse in Jacksonville Florida, where she met Doug. They were married in Wilmington, and lived their lives together in Louisiana, Colorado and Texas. Martha was homemaker until she returned to nursing later in her life at Eden Home in New Braunfels.
Martha loved traveling, and she and Doug enjoyed trips to Europe and Hawaii, and many trips within the US. She enjoyed needlework, loved poetry, reading and raised beautiful African Violets. She volunteered her time in her church, and in the library at Eden Home. Above all, she put her family first and created wonderful memories for us all. She was blessed with a good sense of humor, a caring heart and strong faith, and she brought kindness and grace to all those who knew her.
She is survived by daughter, Janet Prather and husband Michael Prather; son, Leonard Brown, his wife Sherry; and granddaughter, Katelyn Grace Brown; sisters in Law, Ruth Brown of Bossier City La; Bennie Mae Dendy Crouch of Lafayette La; brother in Law, Traves Brown and his wife Lorraine of Beaumont, TX
Public visitation will begin 6:00 PM Sunday at Zoeller Funeral Home and will continue until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, April 11, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Reverend Chip Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Comal Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given in her name to St. Paul Lutheran Church New Braunfels. Arrangements under the direction of Zoeller Funeral Home, New Braunfels, TX.
