

The family of Mary Figueroa, 72, announce with great sadness the passing of their beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on April 12th, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her devoted husband and loving children.
Mary was born in New Braunfels, Texas, on August 28, 1952, to Julian and Manuela Gomez. She was the youngest of seven children. In 1971, she graduated from New Braunfels High School. Soon after, she married her high school sweetheart, Arturo, marking the beginning a beautiful journey together that spanned more than five decades. Their marriage was one of unwavering devotion, deep friendship, and a bond that inspired everyone around them.
Mary spent the beginning of her career serving the community of New Braunfels as a social worker for the Texas Department of Human Services. Later, she served as secretary to the principal at New Braunfels High School until her retirement. Her kindness and spirit touched the lives of many students and faculty.
Throughout her life Mary was devoted to her faith and family. She was a selfless person who dedicated her life to the care of her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Mary taught by example; her children learned compassion, strength, and love from her.
Mary lived a life of deep faith. She was a devout Catholic who was guided by the tenets of her faith in every aspect of her life. Her faith was transmitted through her life to all of her children. Mary was a lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church where she was once active in the Guadalupanas.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Manuela Gomez and brothers, Julian Gomez, Jr. and Jacinto Gomez.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Arturo Figueroa, Jr.; her son, Arturo Figueroa, III and wife Rebeca; daughters, Anissa Villarreal and husband, Jake; Denise Figueroa; Julianna Porterfield and husband, Pickett; Bianca Boyd and husband, Paul; and Dahlia Russell and husband, Kody.
Mary is also lovingly remembered by her 17 grandchildren: Daniella, Andrea, Arturo IV, Mia, Julian, JakeRyan, Rudy, Bernadette, Sofia, Charlotte, Wilson, Jeremiah, Winslow, Everett, June, Camila, and Audrina.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at Holy Family Catholic Church in New Braunfels, Texas, followed by a Holy Rosary at 7:00pm.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church at 10:00am in New Braunfels, Texas. Following the mass, all are invited to the church hall for a reception to celebrate her life.

She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
