

Michael Rene Davis, 72, passed away June 27, 2017. He was born in Weslaco, January 8, 1945. He was the son of Odelia and Conner Davis. He is survived by his wife, Connie Kay, by his children, Todd (Silvia), Kim (Jimmy) Marr and Deena, and by his grandchildren, Valerie, Rosalee, Skylar, and Ashley, and one great-grandchild, Preston. He is also survived by his brother, Darrell Davis and his sister Connie Davis (Mickey) Ewing. Also surviving him and missing him very much are Peanut, Crybaby, and Foxy, his devoted dogs. As a young man, Rene operated a photography studio in Weslaco for many years. Then he became a pilot-photographer for the US Department of Agriculture for a long career. He traveled to many places on USDA assignments, photographing agriculture sites from the air. He retired in 2012. He had a talent for singing and in recent years was well-known for his Elvis Presley tribute shows at many retirement parks, nursing homes and restaurants. He resided in Weslaco until two years ago when he and his wife purchased a retirement home in the beautiful woods and hills of Canyon Lake.
