Michael B. Leggett, 49, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at the South Texas Veterans’ Community Living Center in San Antonio, TX, due to complications from ALS. Mike was born on December 22, 1967, in Panorama City, California to the late George and Gloria (DeBlanco) Leggett. He attended Granada Hills Senior High School near Los Angeles, CA. He enlisted in the US Army in 1989 and served as a diesel mechanic until 1991 at which time he joined the Army Reserves. Mike had a brilliant mind and put his mechanical talents to work in the oil and gas industry, where he started as a roughneck but quickly became one of the best directional drillers in the business. Mike was the loving husband of Tesha L. (White) Leggett, with whom he fell in love with in 1996. He and Tesha were married on March 16, 2007 and spent over 20 years loving each other. He worked until 2013 when he started having symptoms and was later diagnosed with ALS in February of 2014. Mike had a love for sports and supported the teams from where he grew up. He was a diehard Raiders, USC Trojans, and Golden State Warriors fan, and he also enjoyed watching the Seahawks. Most important to Mike were his family and friends. He loved his children more than his own life, and he was an awesome dad to them, a good husband and a fantastic provider. He admired his older and only brother, Jeffery, and always strived to be like him. Mike’s sister-in-law, Leslie, is the best sister-in-law that anyone could ask for.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria (DeBlanco) Leggett, his father George Leggett, his Grandmother Katherine (Cole) Leggett, and his grandfather Donald Leggett. He leaves behind his wife, Tesha; his pumpkin and daddy’s girl; Lauren Leggett; now the man of the house, Martin Davis; his granddaughter, Madison; his brother, Jeffery and sister-in-law, Leslie. He is also survived by his Aunt ‘Ginny’ Virginia Leggett Bayes, Aunt Beverely Cole, Aunt Terry DeBlanco, and Uncle Alan Cole as well as his nephew, Christopher Leggett and three beautiful nieces, Danielle, Lindsey, and Madison. He leaves behind a host of cousins, Michele Bayes, Scott Bayes, Todd Bayes, Gina Borrow, Lisa Borrow, Joseph DeBlanco, and Wendy as well as many wonderful in-laws, neighbors and friends who loved him and whom he loved.
