Michael L. Zahn, of New Braunfels, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at the age of 72. He was born in Oklahoma City, OK on March 23, 1946 to Paul and Melissa Zahn. Michael graduated from Western Military Academy in Alton, Illinois in 1964. He attended Oklahoma University, New Mexico Junior College, and Texas Tech from 1964-1970. Michael moved to New Braunfels from Lubbock in 1986 for better career opportunities in aviation. In his 40 year career he pursued many aspects of the aviation field. Michael was a member of First Baptist Church of New Braunfels.
Michael is survived by his two children; son, Matt Zahn and wife Raye of New Braunfels and daughter, Kim Zahn of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Maddix, Paxton and Jovie Zahn; sister, Polly Schmitt and husband Don of Seattle, WA and their children, Holton and Anna; sister, Beth Zahn of Georgetown; and brother, Jeff Zahn of Addison, TX and his son, Andrew.
He was preceded in death by parents, Paul and Melissa Zahn and brother, Fred Zahn.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made, in Michaels Honor, to the Salvation Army or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
