

Mildred Louise Preble MacIntyre, known by her friends as “Millie”, went to join her heavenly father Saturday evening, August 15, 2015 at the age of 90. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Mildred was born to Gerald and Vessie Preble on December 7, 1924 in Corry, Pennsylvania. She was raised on a farm and was the youngest of 5 children. She attended a one room school house starting at the age of 4.
She graduated from Corry High School and went on to attend the University of Maryland where she worked her way through school and received her bachelor’s degree in Home Economics and Nutrition.
Mildred worked in Washington, D.C. before moving to Chicago where she met her husband Kenneth Robert MacIntyre. They married in November of 1959. Together they raised three children. The family lived in Illinois, Idaho, Ohio, Canada and Indiana before settling in El Paso, Texas where they called home for 28 years.
Mildred worked for El Paso ISD and was an active member in the Texas Secretary’s Association.
Mildred and Kenneth retired to New Braunfels, Tx. in 2002, where Kenneth passed away later that year. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed playing bridge, holding an office with Christian Mothers at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and loved painting, quilting and making her own cards and crafts.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Vessie Preble; loving husband, Kenneth MacIntyre; and siblings, Madalene Preble May, Merle Preble, Marion Preble, and Margery Preble.
She is survived by her daughter Marcia MacIntyre Kelly and husband Kirk of New Braunfels, son Todd MacIntyre and wife Jeanie of Houston, Tx. and Patricia MacIntyre Evenson and husband Kraig of San Antonio, Tx.; grandchildren Ross Keeling and wife Erin, Blake Evenson and wife Ashley, RosaValenzuela and husband Freddy, Hunter Kelly, Eugenie Yang, Addie Kelly, Hunter Evenson, Michelle MacIntyre, Kendra Evenson, and Emma MacIntyre; great grandchildren, Liam, Eli and Hudson. Mildred was adored by all who knew her. She will be forever in our hearts.
A Funeral Service will be held, Friday, August 21, 2015 at 12:00pm at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church 386 N. Castell New Braunfels, Texas. Interment will immediately follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
