Richard Lee Mannes, 94 yrs old, passed away peacefully 4 February 2025 in New Braunfels, TX. Richard is originally from Chicago, arriving in Texas three (3) years ago after living in Arizona for decades.
Richard willingly served his community, retiring as a Sgt. from the Chicago Police Department (1987) and Special Deputy, Marshall’s Service in Phoenix, AZ (1996).
He voluntarily served his country during the Korean Conflict (Air Force 1949-1952), joined the Illinois National Guard in 1955, then transitioned to the US Army Reserve in 1962 as a Sergeant First Class (E7), retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CW4) in 1979.
He is survived by his brother John Mannes (IL), sisters Linda Rodgers (Australia), Edna Anglin (IL) and Joan Herb (IL), and daughters (Audrey WarrenDome (TX), Susan Strycula (IL) and Cindy Dickey (IL)) along with seven (7) grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and three (3) great-great grandchildren.
Interment will be held at Ft Sam Houston Texas National Cemetery with military honors on Wednesday, 28 May 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
