Ronald Gene Scheel

Ronald Gene Scheel passed away on January 7, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 10, 1948 in New Braunfels, Texas to Milton and Bianka (Bonnie) Scheel, the second of four children.

Ronnie served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970 serving in Vietnam. He married his beloved wife, Joy in 1971. They had 39 happy years together spent with family, friends, and travel.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his wife, Joy Scheel; father, Milton Scheel; brother, Gary Wayne Scheel; sister, Mindy Williams; brother-in-law, Robert Lehmann; daughter-in-law, Becky Elbel. He is survived by his mother Bianka (Bonnie) Scheel; sister, Bridgett Lehmann; step son, Todd Elbel (Judy); brother-in-law, Barry Williams; sister-in-law, Dixie Scheel; grandchildren, Courtney Elbel and Jason, Kelsey Elbel and Mikey, Walt Harris (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Logan Dunn, Beckett Landrum, Hadley and Hays Harris, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones. There will be a celebration of life memorial service at the New Braunfels Presbyterian Church on Howard Street, Friday, January 29, 2016 at 10:30am

Memorials can be made to The American Cancer Society, Boysville, Hope Hospice, or the New Braunfels Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
