Ruth B Fowler

Ruth (Ruthie) Burgess Fowler, born February 10, 1927 in George Town, Kentucky died August 21, 2011 in the Texan Nursing Home in San Marcos, Texas. The adopted daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Virgis Hinton in Franklin, Kentucky, she graduated from Simpson County High School Franklin, Kentucky in May 1944.

She loved working as a restaurant waitress most of her life. She also worked as grounds keeper at Hill Country RV Resort, New Braunfels, Texas. “Ruthie” was loved by everyone, and thought very highly of at the RV Resort.

She married Joe H. Halcomb on Dec. 23, 1944 in Franklin, Kentucky. She remarried James Clyde Fowler in 1971 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was preceded in death by Mr. Fowler.

She is survived by two sons: Gary Halcomb, wife Diane, Valdosta, Georgia and Ricky Halcomb, wife Barbara of Gallatin, Tn., also four grandchildren: Nicole Halcomb Pittman, husband Rob, Darlene Halcomb Lee, husband Don, Trent Halcomb, wife Meghan, Paul Halcomb, wife Leslie. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren: Kate Pittman, Caroline Pittman, Karina Lee, Julia Lee, Audrey Lee, Joseph Lee, Shelby Halcomb, Landon Halcomb.
