

At the time of her passing she resided in New Braunfels, Texas with her husband David Johnston.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, James and Atlie Hearn and brother Jimmie Hearn . Shirley was a 1953 graduate of Murphy High School and married her childhood sweetheart, David Johnston on December 20, 1957. Shirley is survived by one sister, Joan M. Bodiford of Mobile, Alabama; sister-in-law, Sue Peterson of Big Timber, Montana and Jeri Wilkins of Pensacola, Florida. She was a loving wife and mother to two daughters, Lori Johnston Baswell (Doug Baswell) of New Braunfels, Texas and Tina Johnston Studdard (Wes Studdard) of New Braunfels, Texas. She has six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews.
Shirley will be dearly missed by her family whom she was devoted to. The grandchildren and great- grandchildren enjoyed her cookie jar and cooking. She brought such great joy to her family thru her loving, bubbly personality. Shirley’s legacy of love will live for generations to come.
God has special blessings for Dr. Ted Truseivich, Dr. Brien Wofford, Dr. Zweibach, Dr. Mario Rossbach, Dr. Kelsy, Dr. Fisk, Dr. Lynn Johnson, Dr. Metzger, Dr. Wood, Dr. Hernandez and Dr. S. Marek. We would like to thank and extend our gratitude to the staff of Christus Santa Rosa Hospital.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakwood Baptist Church. The family has requested that memorial contributions be given to the Kidney foundation. Interment will be at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
