Tommye Elizabeth Nattinger Weisman went peacefully to be with the Lord Monday, August 10, 2015. Tommye was born in the small town of Council Hill, Oklahoma on June 13, 1918 to Emma Ardis and Dee Thomas Stockton. Soon after, the young family moved to Texas where Tom joined his father in the dairy business. Tommye married Marvin Nattinger in 1937, and the young couple along with their children Margaret Jean and Chuck enjoyed many “magical years” in the Edcouch-Elsa area of south Texas with their large extended family and many wonderful friends. Children and teenagers were always a delight to Tommye’s life. Ministering to the youth of First Methodist Church, Edcouch brought her joy, and hours of wonderfully warm memories in her last years. Her grandchildren still tell great stories of their summers at Delta Lake, where she taught all of them to water ski, and proved herself to be the dearest of friends to them. Marvin passed away in 1957 and thirty years later Tommye married Bernard Weisman of Solms, Texas. Widowed again in 2005, Tommye lived out her last ten years in New Braunfels.
In additions to her beloved husbands, Tommye was preceded in death by her son, Chuck, her parents, and numerous siblings. Left to miss her wisdom and wit are her daughter, Margaret Nattinger Aguirre and husband, Frank; daughter-in-law, Sandy Nattinger; granddaughter, Diana and husband, Michael Escueta; grandsons, Kent Howell and wife, Elaine, Mark Nattinger and wife, Karen, Sean Howell, and Scott Nattinger; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and two brothers, Douglas Stockton and wife, Lee, and Bill Stockton.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 10:00am at Stockton Family Cemetery in Bartlett, Texas, located on Herald Clark Rd.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pregnancy Care Center of San Antonio or to the Stockton Cemetery in Bartlett, Texas on Herald Clark Rd. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Zoeller Funeral Home.
