Walter Kenneth “Ken” Grantham, born January 24, 1943, died peacefully on Sunday, October 2, 2016. Ken was predeceased by his father and mother, Walter and Gaynell Grantham of Goldsboro, NC. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Kathy Grantham; stepdaughters, Nicole Fry, and Kristin (Chuck) Duvall; and grandchildren, Caroline and Will Fry.
Ken grew up in Goldsboro, NC and never lost the taste for North Carolina barbeque, though he was also a fan of Texas barbeque. He made his way to Texas as a young man, served in the National Guard, and then worked as a Sears technician until his retirement. Ken was an avid outdoorsman in earlier years, enjoying hunting, fishing, and boating. He loved tinkering in his workshop and cherished the 10 acres he shared with his wife, Kathy, in the hill country. Ken also loved animals, and always had a dog by his side.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at Eden Hill Community in New Braunfels, TX who cared for Ken in his final 2 years.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org or the animal welfare organization of your choice.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 19th, at 11am Hill Country Memorial Gardens, 11700 W Hwy 46 New Braunfels, TX 78132
