October 11, 1946 – March 24, 2025
William Joseph Pagano, 78, passed away peacefully at his home on March 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 11, 1946, in Seneca Falls, NY, he was the beloved son of Orlando and Phyllis Pagano.
Known as “Bill,” he lived a life defined by dedication, hard work, and an unwavering love for his family. More than a devoted husband, father, and provider, he was the foundation of his family. He led by example, instilling in his children the values of perseverance, kindness, and integrity. Whether coaching their teams, cheering them on from the sidelines, or offering quiet but steadfast support, he was always present—his love constant, his guidance strong, and his presence a source of comfort and wisdom.
Bill dedicated his career to serving others. He retired as a firefighter from the Seneca Army Depot, worked as a machinist at Gould Pumps, and later found fulfillment in retirement working with the special needs community at ARC. Beyond his professional life, he gave back to his community by maintaining roads and grounds and coaching both Little League and high school sports.
A passionate racing enthusiast, Bill had a deep love for both dirt track racing and NASCAR. He was also an avid football fan. One of his proudest moments was being inducted into the Mynderse Academy High School Hall of Fame—a testament to his lifelong dedication to sports.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Pagano; his sister, Judy Combest; and his three children: Stacey Steele and her partner, Dave; Scott Pagano and his wife, Jennifer; and Gina Pagano Herrmann and her husband, Kai.
Bill was a cherished grandfather to six grandchildren—Mackenzie, Zachary, Scott Jr. Ryenn, Maddison, and Kylie—and a proud great-grandfather to one, Angel Jackson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. His family was his greatest joy, and his love for them was evident in everything he did.
The family invites friends and loved ones to a Celebration of Life at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas, on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., with a reception to follow, featuring food and drinks.
Bill’s legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
