

Mrs. Willie B. Morris transitioned from this life, at home, unexpectedly on January 30, 2026. She was born on April 30, 1945, in Magnolia, Arkansas to the union of Mossie Lee Burks Jones and Almer LeFear. She was the second oldest of her mother’s five children, all who have preceded her in death: Beulah Mae Brown, Martell Jones Sr., Lucinda Jones, and James Earl Jones.
She was raised in and attended school in Camden, Arkansas until she and her siblings were relocated to Muskegon Heights, Michigan, following their mother’s death. She attended Muskegon Heights Public Schools. After completing her formal education, she would meet and marry Lawrence Edward Morris Jr., who preceded her in death.
She served God as a member of the Jackson Hill Baptist Church and was an active member of the choir. Willie B. was a member of the International F.&A.M. Masons & O.E.S. where she served as a Marshal in the Marshal’s Division. She was an employee at Bil Mar Incorporated and was actively involved in establishing an employee union. She would later serve as a union representative. After retiring she volunteered as a Foster Grandparent for Moon Elementary and Glen Side schools.
She would later relocate to San Antonio, Texas to be with her daughter and grandchildren. She was a member of the Senior’s Companion’s Club, the Tuesday Bible Class, the MidCrowne Prayer Group, and had recently become a member of Christian World Ministries.
Willie B. is survived by her daughter Kathy Morris-Bankhead, her grandchildren Kenyatta Morris (Texas) LaMar Brown (Illinois), Myles Bankhead (Texas), and Nia Bankhead (Texas). Four great-grandchildren; Olivia Morris (California), Morris Davis-Bankhead (Texas), Savanna Bankhead (Missouri), and Beaux Bankhead (Missouri). Sisters: Alma ‘Dean’ LeFear (Michigan) and Mary Banks (Michigan). Nieces: Pamela LeFear (South Carolina), Darlesia Jones (Michigan), Rashonda Jones (Michigan). Nephews: Martell Jones Jr., (Michigan), Keith LeFear (Michigan), Brian LeFear (Michigan), Raquis Jones (Michigan), Shawnderick Roberson (Michigan), and Darece Roberson (Michigan). Close family and friends: Evangelist Gwen Crenshaw (Michigan), Mary Perkins (Colorado), Walter Clay (Colorado), Ann Craig (Michigan), Genat Bee (Michigan), Romonica Long (Georgia), Esteen Brock (Texas), Japhon Barnett (Texas), and a host of other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park and Crematory in the Yellow Rose Room, located at 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218. The service is scheduled for February 17, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
