

Andrzej Matysiak, 70, of Farmington, passed away at his home on February 1, 2021, after a long illness, with his loving family and friends by his side. Born in Poland, Andrzej came to the United States in 1982, first settling in Hartford, then New Britain and later Farmington. Andrzej met his wife Elżbieta in 1970 in his hometown of Szczytno. They married in Olsztyn in 1980.
Andrzej graduated from the Gdańsk University of Technology in 1973 with a Master’s degree in electronic engineering specializing in computer science and automatic control. He worked as an electrical, software and control engineer for approximately 45 years at a number of companies including, ZETO in Poland, Pratt & Whitney and Otis Elevator.
Andrzej enjoyed skiing, sailing, ballroom dancing and mountain hiking. He smiled easily and possessed a gentle demeanor. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed.
Andrzej is predeceased by his mother Kazimiera. He is survived by his wife Elżbieta of 40 years, daughter Emilia, son Daniel and his daughter-in-law Justyna, as well as his father Kazimierz and brothers Mieczysław, Waldemar and Janusz and their families.
A period of visitation will be held at New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 8:30-9:30am.
