

On March 30, 2017, Angeline Marie (Larco) Butera’s role as wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend became Guardian Angel. She left this world peacefully in the comfort and warmth of her own home, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 13, 1932 in New Britain, CT, Angeline was the daughter of Domenico and Carmela (Gagliardi) Larco. She was the graduate of New Britain High School, class of 1950, where she met the love of her life and husband, Matthew Butera.
Angeline's faith and family were the center of her life. She was a devout Catholic and a proud member of St. Paul’s Church for 62 years. Angeline cherished the time she spent with family and close friends. She looked forward to attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and Monday night family dinners. Angeline and Matthew spent the past 30 winters in Isla Del Sol, St. Petersburg, FL with friends that became an extension of their family. She looked forward to card games, dinners, walks, and sunsets at the beach while spending time in Florida. Angeline was an avid UConn basketball fan and enjoyed traveling with friends and family. Angeline was known for her warm and welcoming smile that would win over anyone she met. Her lively demeanor was evident in the stories she loved to tell to anyone who would listen.
Angeline is survived by her husband Matthew Butera, her daughter and son-in-law Deborah and William Barker, her daughter and son-law Diane and Frederick Pindar, and her son Matthew Butera Jr. and Janet Milardo. She also leaves her beloved granddaughters Kristie and her husband Justin Seeger, Kimberly and her husband Daniel Matthews, Allison and her husband Michael Pinto. She will be dearly missed by her grandsons Matthew and his wife Lindsey Pindar and Michael Pindar. She also leaves three loving great grandchildren; Jayden and Tyler Seeger, and Gabriella Matthews. She is survived by her sisters, Catherine Debenian, Edith Vaccariello, and Adeline Cefaratti, her sister-in-law Frances Larco, and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brothers Michael, Felix, and Bernard Larco, her brother’s-in-law Paschal Vaccariello and Joseph Cefaratti, and her dear nephew Frank Cefaratti.
The family would like to pay special thanks to all of her care-givers affiliated with the Hospital of Central CT especially Dr. Rekha Singh, Chief of Surgery, who was a great support over the years, as well as, the HHC at Home Hospice Care. Angeline believed she had the "best" caregivers whom helped her with many hurdles she encountered during her journey.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 5th, 9:00 am at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave.,New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Saint Paul’s Church, 485 Alling St., Kensington, CT.
