

Barbara Ann (Hrenko) Archacki, lifetime resident of New Britain, CT passed away suddenly after a brief illness at Hartford Hospital, surround by loved ones on March 7th, 2024. She was 90 years old.
Born in New Britain CT, she was the youngest daughter of Michael and Nora Hrenko. She graduated from New Britain High School and worked at the New Britain Machine Co. before taking time off to raise her family. Later she was employed as a 411 operator for Southern New England Telephone, where she helped countless people find phone numbers before the Internet age. She retired after a 23-year career there and was proud of her work.
She was a faithful member of Holy Cross church and later St. Jerome in New Britain. She will be remembered for her one-of-a-kind personality, both charming, humorous and sassy in only a way she could be. She cherished gatherings with family and friends and never turned down an invitation for a party. She and her husband loved to dance, and they spent many a late-night dancing with their childhood friends she lovingly called “the gang”. She had a warm personality that endeared her to everyone, including her grandchildren who adored her and she instantly became best buddies with her great granddaughter.
She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Archacki, her son, Raymond Jr. his wife Paula, her grandchildren, Raymond Archacki III and Lea (Archacki) Koehnken, her husband Chris and her two great grandchildren, Shea and Jake, her son Michael and his longtime partner Linda Suski, her dear sister Dorothy Parker and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her newborn twin sons, Gary and Gerald. She was very giving to everyone, putting them ahead of her own needs and her nightly prayers for loved ones will certainly be missed.
Family and Friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday March 14, 2024, from 4-7pm, at New Britain Memorial-Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain, CT 06053. A repast will be held at the Event Center next door to celebrate and remember Barbara’s wonderful life, and everyone is invited to attend. A private Interment for the family will be held at a later date.
