

Dominic Gulli, 63 of Southington passed away on Monday, October 03, 2011 at the Hartford Hospital. He was born in Chiaravalle Centrale, Calabria, Italy and attended local schools in New Britain. He was a resident of Southington for over 40 years.
With his son Peter, Dominic was the owner and operator of Mr. Joseph’s Hair Studio in Southington & Simsbury. He was well known throughout the state as a talented and accomplished hair stylist who won numerous awards for his craft; among them the 1985 World Championship in Hair Style Design. He was a National Guest Artist and judged many hair fashion competitions throughout the world.
He had a love for music and was a great entertainer. Dominic also had a passion for sports cars, fine clothing, wood-working and enjoyed making wine with his brother, Peter.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He had many interests and was a hard working man, but his greatest joy was being with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife and childhood sweetheart, Grace (Mazzonna) Gulli, their three sons, David J. Gulli and his wife Jennifer of Middlebury; Peter D. Gulli of Southington; Thomas D. Gulli and his wife Tracey of Orlando, FL and his beloved grandchildren who where his pride and joy; Samantha, Dominic, Nicholas and Sofia.
He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, Peter Gulli and his wife Maria of New Britain; Caterina Delfino and her husband Giuseppe of New Britain; Joseph Gulli and his wife Sally of TX; Immacolata Tropea of New Britain; Liberata Iozzo of Italy, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will begin Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 9:00am from the New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00am at St. Ann Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Directions: Exit 37 off I-84 take a right at the exit, 1 ½ miles on your right.
Memorial donations may be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital and The Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center.
