

Dorothy (Janick) Carubba, 91, of New Britain died peacefully at home on Sunday, August 7, 2016. She was born in New Britain and was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Murawski) Janick. Dorothy was very proud of her Polish heritage as the daughter of immigrants.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and traveling to Aruba, Las Vegas, Florida, and many other destinations. But her greatest joy was being with her family.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 71 years, Anthony Carubba; her daughter, Charlene Gordon and her husband, Stephen; her son Ronald Carubba and his wife, Anne,and her sister Jeanette Staschke.
She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Scott Gordon and Shelley Lavigne, and Shelley's husband Jason and their children Amber, Dylan and Nicholas. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and her cat Lucy.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters: Stanley, Frank, and Peter Janick, and Nellie Bocwinski and Veronica Uryga.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 9:00 AM at the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain. The funeral liturgy will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Ann Church, 47 Clark Street, New Britain. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Britain.
Calling hours will be on Friday, August 12th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Directions: From I-84 take a right off exit 37, funeral home is 1 1 /2 miles on your right.
