Frances was born in New Britain, CT, on August 27, 1929, to the late Dominic and Anna Ustilla.
Frances spent most of her formative years enjoying life in New Britain with her younger brother, Ed, and later with her baby brother, John. She enjoyed work for many years at the Roly Poly Bakery and often reminisced about the joy of making and selling the doughnuts. She worked several jobs as a time keeper, but her true joy and primary career in life was as a teacher with the Southington School System for almost 40 years.
Some of her greatest joys in life included: spending time with her grandchildren, especially going to carnivals, amusement parks, and to the beach. She enjoyed Gardening, cooking, reading, listening to the radio, especially opera, and talk shows. Her favorite was Bob Steele who she listened to faithfully every morning.
Frances is survived by her 3 children: Her son Philip Mayhew and his wife Cheryl, of Andover, CT; and her daughters; Noreen Downey and her husband Carl, of Barkhamsted, CT; and Charlene St. Sauveur of Siler City NC; Her 11 grandchildren: Tawnya (Mayhew) Winne and her husband Mike, Michelle Mayhew and Joey Mayhew, all of CT; Jenna Mayhew of NC, Karla Downey and Sharon Downey of CT; Christopher Downey and his wife Mariela, of FL; Alicia St. Sauveur of CT; Carol St Sauveur of MD, Nicholas St. Sauveur and Sean St. Sauveur of NC, and two great grandchildren: Michaela and William Winne of CT.
