Geraldine F. Ostrout

Geraldine “Fran” (McLean) Ostrout, 86, of New Britain, died Monday April 23, 2012. She was born in Maine, a daughter of the late Allen and Margaret (Barnett) McLean and was a graduate of Stearns High School in Millinocket, ME. Fran was a Key Punch Operator at Aetna Insurance and also worked at Pratt & Whitney. She was a member of St. Jerome Church in New Britain. Her husband Robert E. Ostrout predeceased her in 2000. She is survived by her three daughters Nancy Johnson and her husband Keith of New Britain, Mary Hunt and her husband Laurence of Granby and Susan Rombola and her husband John of Berlin, her sons Paul W. Ostrout and his wife Mary of Winchester and Stephen J. Ostrout and his wife Patricia of North Stonington, two sisters, Patty Pratt of Millinocket, ME and Jackie Fogg of FL. one brother George McLean of Millinocket, ME, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and her dear friends Mary Jamieson of Millinocket, ME and Jackie Bosse of New Britain. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 1PM at the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery both in New Britain. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, April 25th from 4-8 PM.
