

Helena (Nowakowska) Janusek, 92, daughter of the late Jozef and Katarzyna (Lipcowna) Nowakowski passed away peacefully on March 5, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at the Hospital of Central Connecticut.
Born in Biedrzychow, Poland she survived the German Work Camps of World War II, where she met and married Wladyslaw, her husband of 68 years. They lived, worked and started their family in Germany, relocated and completed their family in France before immigrating to the United States in 1956.
After many years of working at Emhart Corp. she retired to help raise her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with her children, grand and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Regina Koluch of New Britain, Christine and her husband Paul Syntlo of Plainville, Diane and her husband Michael Frankowski of New Britain and Halina and her husband Zbigniew Macniak of Newington. As well as 11 grandchildren, Julie and husband Paul, Nusha, Kenny, Debbie, David and wife Cheryl, Karen and husband Mark, Tommy and wife Lucy, Michele and husband Brian, Laura, Robert and Nicole; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; her sisters-in-law, Halina Nowakowska and Bogumila Bebenek both of Poland. And many nieces and nephews here and in Poland.
She was pre-deceased by her sisters Stanislawa Nowakowska, Celina Niedenthal, and her brother Henryk Nowakowski all of Poland; and her son-in-law Richard Koluch.
Helena’s family would like to thank Dr. John Harbut, Ella, and the staff of E2 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut for their kindness and compassionate care.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 8:30 AM from the New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Friday, March 8th from 4:00 to 7 ;00 pm at the funeral home, Directions: exit 37 0ff I-84 take a right, 1 1/2 miles on y9our right.
