

James Michael Craven, 70, passed away suddenly at his home in New Britain, CT on August 24th. Jim was a proud Staten Island native. He had a marvelous sense of humor, loved diners, good food, and a great glass of wine. He never met a stranger and was always quick to start a conversation. He enjoyed, painting, writing short stories, and keeping in touch with his family. He was an adventurer, mountain climber, loved sailing his boat, and riding his motorcycle through the countryside. He was a writer and editor by trade.
He was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend to many. He fiercely protected and nurtured those he loved. He is preceded in death by his mother Patricia Craven, father Bob Craven, grandfather Raymond Hayes, grandmother Mary Hayes, aunts Mary Peters and Jean Sheppard. He is survived by his loving wife Jingbo Wang, daughter Zu Zhang, son Michael Craven and his wife Kate, brother Bob Craven and wife Aihua, sister Laurie Shoemaker and husband Steve, and sister Patricia Ann Craven Crow and husband Jay.
Nieces and nephews: Jessica Pinson and husband Stefan, Chris Miraldi and wife Lorinda, Vince Jackson, Matt Jackson and fiancé Katie, James Miller and wife Karla.
Aunts and Uncles: Eileen Hendrick and husband Ronn, Ray Hayes and wife Mary, 12 first cousins, and many, many more.
Services will be held Friday, September 6th from 10:30 - 12:30 pm here at New Britain Memorial - Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home with the Celebrant officiating at 12:00 pm
