

Maria A. (Manuele) Cultrera, 76, widow of Salvatore Cultrera, of New Britain, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016. She was born in Solarino, Sicily and was daughter to the late Michaelangelo and Salvatrice (Motta) Manuele. She arrived in the United States in 1956 and started working as a seamstress in New Britain. She then met her future husband Salvatore and they married in 1960. She worked various jobs within the clothing industry. Then in addition to starting and raising her two sons she also enjoyed her friendships and working at Peter Paul Electronics in New Britain. She will be remembered for her love of shopping, jewelry and spending time with her two grandsons, which were her pride and joy.
She is survived and will be dearly missed by her two sons: Salvatore Cultrera Jr and his wife Lina of East Berlin and David Cultrera of New Britain, her two precious grandsons, Salvatore and Paolo. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, a special godson, Nick DiSalvo and many close friends.
A time of visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 from 5-7pm at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain. Funeral services will begin Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at 9AM from the funeral home for a brief gathering followed by her funeral liturgy at 10AM in St. Ann Church.
