Mary T. Starzec

Mary "Mae"Starzec, 93 of New Britain, CT, passed away at Monsignor Bojnowski Manor on March 29, 2010. The oldest daughter of Walenty and Catherine Starzec, she attended local Berlin schools and graduated from New Britain High School in 1935. She managed a small apartment building in New Britain for over 50 years, and was a friend to many of her tenants. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters Stanley, Agnes Starzec Hogan, Susan Starzec Ralph and Julius (Whitey) Starzec. She was the beloved aunt of John Ralph of Newington, Kathryn Ralph of New York, NY, Holly Hogan Bono and husband Joseph of Queenstown, MD, Patty Hogan DeVries of Rochester, NY, Kathy Starzec White of Florida, Susan Starzec Duarte and husband Robert of Florida, and several great-nephews and great-nieces. She also leaves first cousins Clara DiPietro of Kensington, Dorothy and Irene Gadzik of Newington and many other cousins. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 5th from 8:30 to 10:00 AM, at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain followed by the Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, St. John Evangelist R.C. Church, Catholic Charities, Msgr. Bojnowski Manor, or Franciscan Home Care and Hospice.
