He was the youngest son of Stanley and Bronislawa Archacki. He was married for 65 years to his lifetime dancing partner, Barbara (Hrenko) who predeceased him in 2024. He is survived by his son, Raymond Jr. and his wife Paula, his son Michael and his partner Linda Suski, his grandchildren, Raymond Archacki III and Lea (Archacki) Koehnken and her husband Chris and his two great grandchildren, Shea and Jake. He also is survived by his younger sister Irene Jezewski and his sister-in-law Dorothy Parker as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his newborn twin sons, Gary and Gerald and his sister Eleanor Butkiewicz, and brothers Walter, Edward, Stanley and Henry.
He graduated from New Britain High School and settled into a long career at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. It was a change to 2nd shift in the 1970’s that allowed him to rekindle his passion for golf, as he played faithfully every day at Stanley Golf Course before his work shift and every weekend. After retirement in 1991 he really stepped up his game and was known as “Everyday Ray” by his many golfing partners. He would play in any kind of weather and never used a golf cart, walking the course every day. While he played with everyone, he mentored many young players and offered advice on life’s many challenges. In 2022 for his 90th birthday, Mayor Erin Stewart of New Britain presented him with a certificate as “honorary mayor” of Stanley Golf Course, which he was so proud of.
