Simon P. Vaughns, 59, of New Britain, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013. Simon was born in Savannah, Georgia and was son to the late Simon P. Holmes and Ethel (Jordan) Vaughns. He had as a Manager/Planner at Goodrich UTC for several years.
He is survived by his son; Soloman K. Vaughns of Dublin, GA, two sisters: Mary Ryals of Windsor and Donna Collins of West Hartford, three brothers: Michael Vaughns of Charlotte, NC, Scott Vaughns and Brian Vaughns, both of Melbourne, Australia, two grandsons, several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his daughter Ebony Vaughns and his sisters Patricia Vaughns and Martha Thompson. Funeral services are Sat. at 12PM at the McCullough Temple CME Church, 55 Chapman St.,New Britain, with the Rev. Thomas Mills presiding. A visitation hour will precede the service from 11-12 at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
