Simone Campisi

Simone Campisi, 80, beloved husband of Concetta (Gozzo) Campisi of Berlin, formerly of New Britain, passed away on Tuesday July 21, 2015. Simone was born on March 3, 1935 in Solarino, Italy to the late Luciano and Concetta (Pizzo) Campisi. He proudly served in the Italian Army.

Simone moved to the US in 1959 and retired from GE Electric Company and owned and operated Brown’s Quality Market. Simone was an avid gardener and took pride in growing his fruits and vegetables.

Simone was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was happiest when spending time with his family & friends.

In addition to his loving wife Concetta, Simone is survived by his daughters, Tina and her husband Edward Deutsch of GA., Carmela and her husband Stephen Parsons of NC., Rosie Campisi of FL., Lucyann and her husband Thomas Capasso of Rocky Hill, his grandchildren; Steven Pelletier, Jacqueline Murdock, Christina, Michael and David Deutsch, Samantha and Luke Parsons and Sabrina and Nico Capasso. He is also survived by his sisters Carmela and her husband Salvatore Germano, Rosa and her husband Salvatore Melluzzo, brothers Paolo and his wife Giuseppina Campisi, Vincenzo and his wife Lina Campisi, Giuseppe and his wife Tina Campisi, sisters-in-law Santina Gozzo, Salvatrice Calafiore and Giuseppina Gozzo, and several nieces and nephews.

Simone is predeceased by his brothers-in-law Paolo Calafiore, Carmelo and his wife Adelma Gozzo, Gino and Sal Gozzo, sister-in-law Maria and her husband Salvatore Calafiore.

Friends and family are invited to attend a period of visitation on Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 4-7pm at New Britain Memorial – Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT 06053. Funeral services will begin from the funeral home at 9am on Friday, July 24, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 485 Alling St., Kensington.
