

Stanislaw Witkowski, 90, husband of Alina J. (Suszczynski) Witkowski, of New Britain, passed away on August 10, 2013. He was born in Wilno, Poland and was son to the late Leon and Maria (Kazancewicz) Witkowski. He had served in the Polish Army during WWII in Poland. He highly valued education and after the war he received his Master’s Degree in Accounting while attending University in Warsaw, Poland. After retiring in Poland, he moved to America in his 60’s, and took on a position working for Martin Rosol’s Provisions. He loved America and believed in the American Dream. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed gardening and discussing politics. He found the joy in every day. His thirst for life will be missed by all those that had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his wife, Alina, he is also survived by his children; a daughter, Jolanta Stachowski of Farmington and a son, Krzysztof Witkowski and his wife, Larysa of New Britain, a sister, Lila Karasek of Poland and Lola Witkowska of Minsk, his two grand daughers; Annette Smith of Burlington and Evelyn Zemetis of West Hartford, his two great grandchildren, Veronika and Vienna, former son-in-law, Valentine E. Stachowski of Plainville, his closest loving cousins; Jozef and Danuta Witkowski and all their family and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 9:00am from the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00am in Holy Cross Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
