You are not forgotten, Weronika. Thinking of you!

Dear Weronika, 

It is with a heavy heart I write this memory. 

Although our time together was short, it was filled with adventures and great memories. 

Hiking through different parks, or climbing buildings in New Haven, you were always up for an adventure. I remember clearly getting to the top of many New Haven buildings and being scared out of my mind climbing those ladders to reach our goal. But we all came out of it with a memory to share and have. Playing ultimate frisbee at E. Rock park or teaching you to swim at the Branford Y, these are memories I can cherish forever. 

You were taken away way too early, but the life you lived is one that carries experience, happiness and joy that most don't have over a much longer time. 

May you rest in peace.

Weronika and I worked at Seidel together. We recently lost our dear friend John, who also worked there. She and I traveled to Las Vegas together and spent every lunch break together. Dear Weronika, you will be dearly missed. I’m heartbroken to learn of your passing. You and John save a laugh and some blueberries for me up there 🙏😢  “Kawww.”

With all the love in the world to Weronika,

While listening to Weronika's celebration of life ceremony I came away with the overwhelming sense that she lived a full and complete life. For those who were or were not able to attend, there is so much living that Weronika experienced, some piece of which each of us knew from our connection with her and some of which we each were lucky enough to share in. While obviously she has departed our plane far too soon, in her 36 & 1/2 years, when taken as a whole, she definitely lived and experienced a full and complete life. She lived and experienced wider and deeper with her time than do many people who live to be 80 or 90+ years old. That is something that I at least take some comfort in knowing.

I met you working at DSW, It’s been years, but I remember you as such a bubbly, fun and friendly person . I pray for your family and friends to find comfort, Rest In Peace Weronika, I’m glad you were in a part of my life.

I only knew you for a summer, over seven years ago, but the impression you made on me was much larger. I came to New Haven at a very low point in my life, and you accepted me into your community with open arms. Whatever you all were up to - pool parties, cookouts, night hikes, glow-in-the dark frisbee on the Fourth of July, random evening hangouts - I was always invited, and I always had so much fun. And of course, we also played ultimate. A lot. I'll never forget the first time we went to Rice Fields with a few others and threw a frisbee around. You tried to help me with my forehand, but I was hopeless. I still can't do it. I made so many wonderful memories that summer, and my memories of you are so vivid because your presence was so strong and so kind. I think because you were such a strong person, it doesn't seem right that you're gone. It's just hard to accept. You were a rock in our community that summer, and I know you've been a rock for so many others. Because of the generosity of you and your friends, what should have been one of the worst times of my life turned out to be one of the best. I will never forget you for it. Rest in Peace, Weronika.

I was one of Weronika managers at Talbots Kids. I will never forget her wonderful smile and great work ethic.
Even though we no longer worked together we always kept in touch. I was devastated when I found out what she was going through and tried to help a little.
When I heard she passed away I had to take some time to reflect on life.
Weronika I will miss you so much.

When I saw this I wanted more than anything for it not to be real, and I am still in disbelief. I felt a connection to Weronika from the very beginning, and she has become such an amazing friend over these past few years. I will miss our nights of watching the Bachelor and analyzing, criticizing, and laughing over all its’ craziness, and I will cherish these memories forever. My only hope is that you are finally free from your disease and no longer in pain. Rest easy Weronika; you will be greatly missed.

You are absolutely fantastic. It is so unfortunate that life unfolded the way that it did in your instance. But my experiences with you were profound and will always be remembered. Man, we shared a lot of memorable experiences and no one could top your delightful banter. From the beginning, where I remember you sneaking me into the backdoor of Yale’s gym to play indoor frisbee to the random canoe adventures, motorcycle rides, beautiful sunsets, peekamoose blue hole trips, sharing of healing info and beyond. You are one of a kind, I mean who else was crazy enough to climb six stories of scaffolding to star gaze and theorize / re-imagine the world with our words for hours on end. It is so hard to capture the essence of this in words, but you are a true friend and you were always there for me long after others gave up. You and your family are in my heart. Rest in peace M’lady. Rest in peace.

What struck me first about Weronika immediately was that everything she did, she did well and so effortlessly. For example, she was stylish all the time from her head to her toes, and never made it seem like it would take more than 2 minutes to get ready. Athletically, she was gifted. She could do any yoga pose we had randomly decided to try while hanging out on a summer day in the park. She could rival national athletes in ultimate frisbee. I remember thinking all the time that she was extremely observant (including regarding our height/foot size discrepancy, see picture), and she would notice things about people that other people didn't know about themselves or didn't want other people to know about themselves. Being such an open and honest person, she'd reveal her findings and make you feel good at the same time. Only she could do that with such ease because she had not one malignant bone in her body. She would make everyone feel included and welcome. She was the glue of every group. She had endless laughter and endless empathy. She saw the best in us and didn't really hold grudges. Everyone she knew felt near and dear to her. She was also extremely humble and always bursting with creativity. A seemingly ordinary activity, like a walk in the park, would without fail turn into an adventure every single time. She was the definition of carpe diem. She lived more in her short 36 years than most people live in a lifetime. An angel on Earth, may she rest in peace. 

Weronika is one coworker I’ll never forget. She was always positive and energetic, you couldn’t help but feel happy around her. My condolences to her family, friends, and anyone else who was impacted by her presence. Rest In Peace

Meeting you Weronika changed my life.  I loved hanging out after work together and having long discussions in the parking garage.  Thank you for all the love you gave to me and the world.  I will miss you my friend.

Weronika, it's been a few years since we worked together, but I have never forgotten you. I have thought of you often and I will continue to do so even now that you are gone. My heart is breaking.... rest well.
