Wladyslaw Kurys, 70, of Newington CT, peacefully passed away after bravely battling cancer at home surrounded by his family on November 4th, 2020. Born in Kamien, Poland, and son of Stefania and Jozef Kurys. Wladyslaw immigrated to the United States in order to provide a new world of opportunity for his beloved wife and three children.
Wladyslaw was a committed family man who spent all of his time with his loved ones. He was also an involved parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in New Britain. After his work life, he cherished active conversation with his wife, children, and relatives, by listening to their stories as well as sharing his life experiences. And, he was always ready to watch and play with all of his seven grandchildren. As a fully devoted father, Wladyslaw would travel all over the state with his wife to see his children play soccer and would forever be their #1 fan. He dedicated his entire life to provide everything that he could to his wife and children – a priceless attribute.
Even when dealing with medical illnesses, he persevered to consistently be present at family events and would not allow any ailments, minor or severe, prevent him from staying involved and seeing his children and grandchildren. A committed husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he will be forever remembered as the steadfast foundation to his family and to the future generations who will always cherish from his sacrifice by immigrating to the United States with just 2 suitcases.
Wladyslaw is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Krystyna (Socha) Kurys; his children, Kasia Cartiera, Peter Kurys and wife Ziara, and Wojtek Kurys and wife Jessica; and grandchildren, Marko and Luke Cartiera, Mateo and Victoria Kurys, and Charlotte, Evelyn, and Camden Kurys. In addition, he is also survived by his sisters, Anna Bak, Janina and husband Stanislaw Chudzik, Krystyna and husband Zdzislaw Partyka; sisters-in-law, Czeslawa Kurys and Stella Kurys, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Kazimierz and Jan Kurys.
Calling hours will be held at New Britain Memorial and Donald D. Sagarino Funeral located at 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain, on Friday, November 6, 2020 between 4pm and 7pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 10am at Sacred Heart Church. Burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Britain will follow.
